At Double D’s ranch, we farm with Care, intention, and heart.

The ranch

  • How we farm

Our approach to farming begins with daily care and a genuine respect for every living thing. We stay small so we can stay hands-on, paying attention to every animal, every detail, and every decision that affects the land and the life around us.

  • How We Raise Our Animals

Our animals are raised on open pasture with room to roam, fresh air, and clean shelter. The pigs have covered areas with plenty of straw for bedding, mud to cool off in, and pasture to graze. The chickens free range during the day, scratching and foraging in the grass, and rest safely at night in a large predator-proof coop. Every space is designed to give them comfort, freedom, and protection from the elements year-round.

  • What they eat

We believe healthy animals begin with a healthy diet. All of our livestock are fed all natural, non-GMO feed made from whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and pasture. The pigs enjoy a mix of hog mash, hay, and scraps from the farm. The chickens are fed a premium blend enriched with probiotics, prebiotics, and essential oils for strong immunity and healthy digestion. Nothing processed, nothing artificial, and never any hormones or growth additives.

  • animal health and care

We spend time with our animals every single day. By staying close, we notice the small things that matter, like how they move, eat, and behave. If something seems off, we act quickly. Most care can be handled right here on the farm, but when needed, we work with a trusted local veterinarian who shares our commitment to animal welfare. Prevention, cleanliness, and attention are key to keeping our animals healthy and stress-free.

  • Processing Practices

We partner with a small, family-owned local butcher who follows humane handling standards. Each animal is treated with care and respect through every stage of its life. We believe in quality over quantity, which means raising fewer animals and giving each one the attention it deserves. Every part of our process is done locally, ethically, and with pride in where it comes from.

  • Sustainability

We believe good farming gives back more than it takes. We use natural waste from the farm as fertilizer for our garden and pasture, and we compost wherever possible to reduce waste. Scraps from our kitchen go to the pigs, and manure helps enrich the soil for future growth. Every small step adds up to a healthier farm and a stronger connection to the land we love.
